Daughter of the Kites

This is the story of a daughter who loves her freedom and independence. She's at her threshold of her teenagehood and she's rebellion of a kind. In this storm the father and the mother are at the crossroads of how to deal with such a storm.

The daughter and her good name is Julia and Julia is fond of mobile phones and bikes. Her aim is to earn a fortune by working as a management consultant. She has a very good idea about academically how to get there.

She's often confused about the right path. And here comes the mother and especially father who thinks that what is the right path for Julia ?

Julia is a free spirit and thinks her mother and the father is a bit of a annoyance.

Her father Raja lives on a rental income and mother Shaheen is an accomplished housewife. The family is like an every other middle class family. Both Raja and Shaheen struggle to meet their ends every month.Julia has first class dreams and she has a roadmap to fulfill her dreams.

Sometimes Julia goes off hand with her goals. She is not self reliant and often banks on the families savings as fund to propell her in carreer goals.Julia being the only child and the only daughter in the family is quite loved and well taken care off.

Julia believes that teenage life is to enjoy to the maximum and studies and work comes secondary or she thinks that she can manage both quite optimally.Life is certainly needs to be celebrated but there are rules of engagement without which one cannot excel in life, studies and work.

Julia is short of believing that mother and father are eternal companions and any pain to Julia is a heartache to their parents.

Its been long time since the family had enjoyed meals together. Its been long since they said their prayers together. The family is on collision course with the reality of a harsh winter for which they were never prepared.

Everyone loves everyone in the family but there's no connect and this connect is referred to as a kite in this short story. God bless

Godspeed.
