The RSS ( Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh)

The RSS ( Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh ). In English,The National Volunteer Organisation) is a member of the larger front called the Sangh Pariwar which acts as an umbrella organisation for the BJP, the ruling party the Bhartiya Janta Party, the ABVP, Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad,the student body of the Sangh Pariwar.


It has around 5 to 6 million members or volunteers shall we say.Its objectives are the promotion of Hindu values and Hindutva.It is headquartered in Nagpur at old Hedgewar Bhavan.It was formed in September 1925 amidst the eroding political space for Hindus.

As a front runner in National Volunteer Organisation.The RSS undertakes various missions of volunteering, be it natural disasters, rural education mission, traffic management and many more.It is a non profit non political organisation.

There are several events and meets of karyakartas, Officebearers every year as per schedule to be updated with the missions objectives and goalsettings.They run cleanliness drives in urban and rural parts of India.They teach you discipline and valuesbased Life.They discuss the challenges ahead of hindutva and how hindutva is being misunderstood amongst ordinary citizens.

They organise regular inter faith meets across different cities to promote communal harmony.

The current chief or Sarsanghchalak of the RSS is Mohan Bhagwat appointed since March 2009.

The RSS puts up with the Hindu cause non-violently often with intellectual debates and discussions and therefore resonates with a much larger audience.

RSS is also against the religious conversions targetting the poor subjects with economic benefits and getting them converted either to Christianity or Islam.
