Rwandan Genocide

Today marks the 30th Anniversary of the Rwandan Genocide way back in 1994. This was the period when 800,000 thousand Tutsis were slaughtered with machetis alongwith some moderate hutus population.

Back then the United Nations security council refused to call it a Genocide. Later in 1998, during the visit of the American President Mr.Bill Clinton, Clinton admitted Genocide and regretted that the world didn't act fast enough to save the millions.

Parallels have been drawn to the events in Gaza, as South Africa brought matters to the International Court of Justice's attention that past lessons have to be learned in resolving present potent conflicts like that of Israel and Palestine.
